The GEAM has been used by more than +50 universities and research centres across Europe, generating +10k responses. It offers a framework to collect high quality comparable data on inclusive gender equality that facilitate dialogue and learning within and across organisations.

Free and Open Source

Provided at no cost

In the context of the INSPIRE project, the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya offers a free survey service. You can run your GEAM at no additional cost using our LimeSurvey installation. The service includes the setup of a GEAM questionnaire for employees or students for up-to six month.

Open source & open standards

The GEAM uses the LimeSurvey platform, an open source survey application.

All documentation (manual and handbook) as well as reporting templates are written in Quarto / R and available for collaboration via Github.

Data ownership

You are responsible for the data collected in your organisation. Once a survey has been activated, data can be exported in standard formats such as CSV, SPSS or Excel directly from the LimeSurvey platform.

The GEAM survey is also available as LimeSurvey Archive file to be installed on any other LimeSurvey platform.

Development & Maintenance

The initial version of the GEAM tool has been developed in the framework of the H2020 ACT Project.

The third and revised version of the GEAM has been developed in the framework of the INSPIRE Centre of Excellence for inclusive gender equality in R&I, funded by Horizon Europe.

Contributing

All types of contributions are welcome, e.g. in translations of questionnaire items, or contributions to the manual, analysis handbook, or reporting template.
